EELD
EELD'S week 2.
Learnt something todayy in EELD.
E-learning is about self learning online or by using a CD. There is no limit to e-learning as it is 24/7 and it can be done at our own time and pace. E-learning uses the technological advances of the computer such as googling, completing assignments given to students and handing it up in the form of microsoft word.
The drawbacks of e-learning is that in order to have an effective e-learning, everyone must have a computer and internet access. There also might be isolation through e-learning as we do our work alone without seeing the teacher face to face. The instructions given might also be unclear and the students might follow the wrong instructions. Throughout the time, the students might be lazy to do their work and care less about their schoolwork. Other than that, e-learning takes time to be completed. The student needs to access the internet to search for information and if the internet is not working properly, it may take a few hours to complete one assignment.
At the end of this semester, after we have learnt and experimented with the ways to create an e-learning package, we have to pick a subject [let's sayy p1 science]. After the kids have learnt in school about this subject, we have to create an assignment to help them learn and memorise the things they have learnt in school.
There are a few pros and cons of e-learning.
Pros: we have all the time to do our work ,we do not need to go to school to hand the assignment and such.
Cons: there is a disadvantage to those who do not own a computer, so they might not be able to complete their assignments before they go back to school. If the internet server is down, students cannot log on and complete their assignments. Students might also be unmotivated to come back to school as they are too comfortable with working at home.
