school reopens
hello! it's been the first week of school, and yes for this week's lesson, it is supposedly an e-learning week, whereby we need not come to school.
so todayy, it will be about learning management system(LMS) and course management system(CMS). specifically it will be about the differences among these two.
the LMS is about a software for delivering, tracking and managing training. for example, systems to manage training records or softwares to be distributed over the net, and offering features for online collaboration. in some situations, the management will purchase LMS to automate record-keeping or to keep track of the registration of employees for classes or online courses. most LMS are web-based to accomodate access to learning content and administration.
examples of LMSs are: provision of online learning, student self-service and online assessment.
the CMS however, is a tool or software that allows a teacher or instructor to post information on a particular subject, without himself having to know about HTML or computer languages. it also allows the instructor to have a set of tools or materials that can be created easily and thereafter he can teach the students in the course with different ways of interacting.
examples of CMS include: blackboard.com, eCollege, OLAT and ILIAS.
